Widow of freedom fighter gifts books to students hit by Assam floods
Hemlata Bhuyan, the 85-year-old wife of the late freedom fighter Ghanakanta Bhuyan, has contributed educational supplies valued at ₹50,000, such as books, to students impacted by the floods in Assam. Accompanied by her grandson, Bhuyan made a 110 km journey to reach the institution, which is recognized as one of the oldest schools for girls in the state. She funded these donations through the freedom fighter pension that had been granted to her husband.
