During the June quarter, gold recycling across India dropped to its lowest point in almost three years, even though local gold prices were roughly 60% higher compared to the previous year. Gold recycling involves turning in old gold items like coins or jewellery for money, which are then melted down and returned to the market. Rather than selling, people are currently choosing to trade in their jewellery, take out loans against their gold, or hold onto their assets in hopes of better prices.
