Why fuel prices remain unchanged despite drop in global oil rates
Union Minister Hardeep Puri has explained the reason behind the lack of reduction in petrol and diesel prices in India, even as crude oil costs have returned to levels seen before the war. He stated that oil marketing companies incurred a combined loss of ₹74,781 crore by selling petrol, diesel, and LPG at prices lower than their actual cost up until June 30. Furthermore, he noted that these firms are currently refining crude oil that was purchased during the peak of the crisis in West Asia.
