Currently, the 7,200-km International North-South Transport Corridor utilizes a combination of rail, road, and sea to transport goods, which has already shortened the transit time between Russia and India from 40 days down to 20–25 days. A complete rail connection over land could be even quicker, as it would eliminate the requirement for sea travel and the associated cargo transfers.
