Wayanad residents craft massive 25,000-sq-ft floral tribute for elephant Maniyan
In Irulam, Wayanad, locals have designed a giant 25,000-square-foot Onam pookkalam that depicts both King Mahabali and the popular wild elephant, Maniyan. To create this floral display, the team sourced 10 tonnes of flowers from Gundlupet and spent three days putting it together. The local collective organizing the Onam festivities has planned a series of sports and cultural programs that will run through August 27.
