Vietnam Airlines plane experiences tail strike and tyre bursts during aborted Munich take-off

On August 15, a Vietnam Airlines flight departing from Munich, Germany, encountered a tail strike following two unexpected drops in speed during its take-off roll. The Boeing 787-9, which was headed to Hanoi, managed to return safely to Munich Airport. Before touching down, the aircraft circled at an altitude of approximately 9,000 feet for nearly two hours while dealing with four blown tyres. To ensure a safe landing, the flight crew also performed a fuel dump to lighten the plane.
