Vehicles set on fire, statues vandalised during student protest in Meghalaya
A black-flag bike rally held by the Khasi Students' Union turned violent in different parts of Shillong, Meghalaya, resulting in several vehicles being set on fire and statues of Netaji and Swami Vivekananda being vandalised. Following the clashes, three senior leaders of the student union were arrested by the police. The protesters were demanding the enforcement of the Meghalaya Residents Safety and Security Act.
