US trials long-range 465-km missile compatible with F-35 and F-22 jets
The US Navy has begun testing the Raytheon-developed AIM-424 Malice, an air-to-air weapon capable of hitting targets at a range exceeding 290 miles (465 km). Because its dimensions are comparable to the AIM-120 AMRAAM, the missile is designed to be carried within the internal bays of F-22 and F-35 stealth aircraft. The weapon is 13.5 feet long, features a 13.5-inch diameter, and has a total weight of approximately 680 kg.
