US traveler charged after erasing phone data during airport inspection
A US citizen arriving at Atlanta airport in 2025 is being federally prosecuted for clearing information from his mobile device while undergoing an airport inspection. After being pulled aside by federal officers for additional questioning, the man was instructed to unlock his phone. However, once he typed in his passcode, the device restarted. Officials claim that destroying evidence to stop it from being seized is a violation of the law.
