US sends more than 20 naval vessels to Middle East to strengthen Iran blockade
According to US CENTCOM, the United States has stationed more than 20 warships in the Middle East to maintain a naval blockade against Iran. The command reported that since the blockade began, American forces have diverted at least 55 ships, stopped two from operating, and conducted boardings on two additional vessels. This military buildup occurs as Iran and Oman near a deal to set up shipping routes within the Strait of Hormuz.
