US official of Pakistani descent addresses forced conversion of Hindu girls in Pakistan
Dr. Asif Mahmood, the Pakistani-origin head of the US Commission on International Religious Freedom, has brought attention to the mistreatment of minority groups in both China and Pakistan. He stated, "I have specifically spoken up for Hindu girls... Pakistan is actively working to convert them [to Islam]." Mahmood further noted that both China and Pakistan have been suggested for designation as Countries of Particular Concern (CPC).
