US imposes sanctions on ICC President and top attorney, labels body a 'sham'
The United States has placed sanctions on International Criminal Court President Tomoko Akane and lead attorney Abdoulaye Seye as part of a fresh effort to undermine the institution. Secretary of State Marco Rubio dismissed the ICC as a "sham of a court," stating that it has "maliciously abused its authority and exceeded its mandate."
