TMC MP and actress Koel Mallick quits, marks fourth resignation from Rajya Sabha
In a major blow to Mamata Banerjee, actress and TMC parliamentarian Koel Mallick has stepped down from the Rajya Sabha. She is the fourth TMC member to quit the Upper House following the West Bengal Assembly polls. Before her, Sukhendu Sekhar Roy, Sushmita Dev, and Prakash Chik Baraik had also resigned. All three have since moved to the BJP and are now running as the party's candidates in the upcoming Rajya Sabha by-elections.
