Thousands flock to Kenyan village after goat herder discovers gold

A small village in western Kenya has become the site of a gold rush in recent weeks. The frenzy began when a local goat herder stumbled upon three grams of gold while looking for a lost animal. He managed to sell the find for 36,000 Kenyan shillings, which is roughly $280. At the peak of the excitement, officials reported that approximately 10,000 people from across Kenya and Uganda traveled to the area in hopes of striking it rich.
