Telangana considers issuing permanent residence certificates following Karnataka's lead
Telangana is planning to introduce permanent residence certificates (PRC), mirroring a move by Karnataka during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter rolls, according to the Times of India, which cited Telangana government advisor Mohammed Shabbir. Shabbir noted that these certificates will be granted following a thorough verification process. Previously, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar had stated that his state would provide PRCs to assist residents during the SIR process.
