According to figures from TrueUp, a tech employee has been laid off every 100 seconds throughout 2026. The report indicates that 1.65 lakh workers have lost their jobs across 449 separate layoff incidents this year, a period marked by historic levels of AI investment. This amounts to 865 job cuts daily, an increase from the 674 layoffs per day recorded on average in 2025.
