Tamil Nadu to provide 3 free LPG cylinders to low-income families and free bus rides for transgenders
On Monday, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay introduced a new initiative offering three free LPG cylinders annually to households earning less than ₹2.5 lakh per year. This program is projected to reach 1.30 crore families and will require an annual expenditure of approximately ₹4,000 crore from the state budget. Additionally, Vijay declared that transgender individuals will now be eligible for free travel on state buses.
