Tamil Nadu: Railway gatekeeper saves man from train in last-second rescue
Sandeep Chahar, a gatekeeper with Southern Railway, put his own life on the line to rescue a man who had walked onto the tracks close to Sirkazhi, Tamil Nadu, just as a fast-moving MEMU train was approaching. The intense rescue was recorded on CCTV and has since gone viral. It is believed the man was under the influence of alcohol. Reflecting on the incident, Chahar stated, "I was doing my duty," and he is set to receive an award for his courageous actions.
