Taliban restrictions limit 50% of Afghan women to leaving home just twice a month
According to UN Women, half of all women in Afghanistan are now stepping out of their houses only one or two times every month due to strict rules enforced by the Taliban. Since the Taliban returned to power in 2021, they have blocked approximately 2.4 million girls from attending secondary school. Furthermore, UN Women noted that the Taliban leadership has introduced over 100 different edicts aimed specifically at restricting women and girls since they took control.
