Taliban backs safe transit for proposed Russia-India rail link
The Taliban has responded to Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin’s suggestion of a railway connection linking Russia and India. The Taliban stated they would facilitate safe passage for this rail line, noting that the initiative would generate jobs within Afghanistan and that they are in favor of such developments. Khusnullin mentioned that the potential path for this route could traverse Turkmenistan, Iran, Afghanistan, and Pakistan.
