Taiwanese authorities arrest Nvidia staffer over illegal AI chip exports to China
Prosecutors in Taiwan have taken an Nvidia worker into custody and raided the firm’s local offices, marking the first time a chip company employee has faced such legal measures. The individual is accused of bypassing US trade sanctions by smuggling Nvidia artificial intelligence processors into China. Officials had previously launched a probe into the delivery of Super Micro Computer AI servers equipped with high-end Nvidia hardware to destinations including China, Hong Kong, and Macau.
