Supreme Court tells Karnataka to follow Cauvery water release directive
On Monday, the Supreme Court instructed Karnataka to adhere to the Cauvery Water Management Authority's (CWMA) mandate regarding the discharge of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu. Previously, the authority ordered Karnataka to provide 3,500 cusecs of water daily to Tamil Nadu over a 15-day period. The court noted that Karnataka is currently releasing the water and has not completely declined to do so.
