The Supreme Court has increased its scrutiny of the Bar Council of India (BCI), raising concerns over Chairman Manan Kumar Mishra remaining in his post. The bench noted that, on the face of it, his term should not be viewed as lasting until 2030. Furthermore, the Court ordered that the Attorney General must be closely involved in all policy-related decisions made by the council until new elections are held to reconstitute the body.
