The Supreme Court has requested the government's stance on a petition filed by Anita Bose Pfaff, the 83-year-old daughter of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. She is requesting that the freedom fighter's remains be brought back to India from the Renkoji Temple in Tokyo. It is generally accepted that Bose passed away following a plane crash in 1945 in what is now Taiwan. Earlier in March, the top court had dismissed a similar request from Netaji's grandnephew, suggesting that Pfaff herself should be the one to initiate the legal process.
