Sugar company shares dip following government's duty-free import approval

Shares of sugar companies faced selling pressure on Friday following the government's decision to allow the duty-free import of raw sugar, capped at 10 lakh metric tonnes, through October 31. Dalmia Bharat Sugar and Industries saw the steepest drop, falling 6.50%, while Balrampur Chini Mills shares slid by 5.23% during the session. Additionally, Triveni Engineering & Industries shares fell 4.31%, and Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar saw a decline of 4.29%.
