Student overcomes collapsed lung to clear IIT with mother's support
In October 2025, Gunjan Kumar faced a health crisis after being diagnosed with Pneumothorax, a collapsed lung, which left him bedridden for three months. During this period, his mother, Gunja, stepped in to attend his online lectures and meticulously prepared study notes for him. Thanks to this support, Gunjan managed to secure a 91.8 percentile in the JEE Main exam and eventually earned Rank 50 in the PWD OBC category. He is now preparing to enroll in the Computer Science program at IIT Delhi.
