Srinath: I would have suspended Ganguly for the 2001 toss delay incident
Ex-Indian pacer Javagal Srinath stated that if he had served as match referee during the 2001 Test series between India and Australia, he would have handed Sourav Ganguly a multi-match ban. Srinath was addressing the incident where Ganguly kept Australian skipper Steve Waugh waiting at the toss during the Kolkata Test. Ganguly previously explained that the hold-up occurred because he was unable to locate his blazer.
