Sri Lanka loses hosting duties for first Women’s Champions Trophy
The ICC has revoked Sri Lanka's hosting privileges for the first-ever Women’s Champions Trophy in 2027, citing issues regarding government interference in the management of Sri Lanka Cricket. The T20 competition, which features six teams, was originally slated to be held in the country between February 14 and February 28, 2027. At present, a government-selected Transformation Committee is overseeing the operations of Sri Lanka Cricket.
