Spain to invest ₹11,000 crore in world's biggest optical telescope
Spain has revealed a €1 billion (exceeding ₹11,000 crore) funding plan in collaboration with the European Investment Bank to build the globe's most massive optical telescope. This financial commitment follows discussions about relocating the Thirty Metre Telescope (TMT) project from Hawaii to La Palma, Spain. Previously, India had pledged to supply 84 components needed for the telescope's expansive primary mirror.
