Investors in the 2020-21 Series VI Sovereign Gold Bonds (SGB) have the option to redeem their holdings early at a rate of ₹15,384 per unit starting September 8, 2026. Since these bonds were originally offered at ₹5,067 per gram for those using digital payment methods, they have generated an absolute return of approximately 204%. Consequently, an initial investment of ₹1 lakh made at the time of issuance would currently be valued at roughly ₹3.04 lakh.
