South Korea's Kakao to create separate AI business
South Korean tech leader Kakao is set to divide its chat-based platform operations into a standalone entity, provisionally called KakaoAI. Meanwhile, the company will keep its investment activities under the KakaoX brand. Following the scheduled split on January 1, the new business is projected to relist on the Korea Exchange by January 27. KakaoAI will concentrate its efforts on artificial intelligence, advertising, and the KakaoTalk service.
