South Korea plans record ₹56.76 lakh crore budget to support chip sector
South Korea has introduced a historic budget proposal of 821 trillion won (₹56.76 lakh crore) for the year 2027, focusing heavily on infrastructure for advanced semiconductors. The plan includes ₹1.47 lakh crore dedicated to bolstering chip production, alongside a specific semiconductor fund of ₹17,958 crore. This significant rise in government spending is supported by the substantial profits generated by the nation's semiconductor industry.
