Six Arab football associations voice support for FIFA chief Infantino
On Thursday, the heads of six Arab football federations—representing Qatar, Egypt, Lebanon, Morocco, Sudan, and Mauritania—declared their support for FIFA President Gianni Infantino. Infantino is currently campaigning for re-election in the coming year, despite facing resignation demands from UEFA, the AFC, and CONCACAF following his controversial and subsequently scrapped proposal to sell World Cup stakes. It is worth noting that four of the six officials who signed the statement also hold seats on the FIFA Council.
