Shaurya Chakra awarded to Su-30 pilot for emergency landing
A Su-30 MKI fighter jet experienced a major systems failure while carrying a trainee, subjecting both the crew and the aircraft to extreme physical stress and aerodynamic forces. Squadron Leader Sudhir Kumar, the pilot-in-command, displayed remarkable presence of mind and successfully brought the plane down safely. In recognition of his actions, he was honored with the Shaurya Chakra on Independence Day.
