Sensex drops 800 points, Nifty slips under 24,000 as US-Iran conflict heats up
Indian markets saw a significant decline during Wednesday's opening session due to rising tensions between the US and Iran. The BSE Sensex tumbled by approximately 809 points, reaching 76,135.72 following an opening of 76,471.32. Simultaneously, the Nifty 50 shed nearly 200 points, falling beneath the 24,000 level. Crude oil prices also climbed to a six-week peak following the exchange of military strikes between the US and Iran overnight.
