SEBI removes trading restrictions on JPMorgan subsidiary following payment

According to a Bloomberg report, India has ended the trading suspension on Copthall Mauritius Investment, a unit of JPMorgan Chase. This follows the firm's payment of ₹2.96 crore to meet a SEBI directive regarding claims of illegal profits. Previously, SEBI had charged both Copthall and Mansi Share and Stock Broking with manipulating the market through BSE closing-auction transactions. While both entities are permitted to resume trading activities, SEBI’s probe into the matter remains ongoing.
