Sanjay Raut warns bike-taxi approval in Maharashtra could drive auto drivers to suicide
Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut has requested Maharashtra Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik to rethink the move to permit bike-taxis, citing the negative effect on the earnings of autorickshaw drivers. He stated that this policy is driving unemployed Marathi rickshaw drivers throughout the state to consider suicide. Raut also emphasized that the livelihoods of many thousands of young people in Maharashtra are tied to operating rickshaws.
