Russian warships get ‘Mad Max’ look with anti-drone cages
A Financial Times report states that Russia has fitted its naval vessels with metal cages and nets to defend against drone strikes, resulting in an appearance similar to vehicles from the “Mad Max” film franchise. These modifications are intended to shield the ships from Ukrainian drone assaults. Since July 2026, Ukraine has successfully targeted more than 218 vessels associated with Russia in the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov.
