Russian attacks hit Kyiv and Dnipro as US delegates arrive in Moscow
On September 5, Russian forces launched strikes on two airports in Kyiv and a steel facility in Dnipro, resulting in nine deaths. The attacks occurred as American representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner arrived in Moscow to present a peace plan. President Zelensky condemned the strikes as an attempt to derail diplomatic efforts and suggested a brief ceasefire while the envoys are in the country. Moscow has yet to issue a response.
