Russia suggests new rail connection to India

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin has put forward a plan for a railway link connecting to India. Khusnullin stated that they should look into a rail path reaching the Indian Ocean. He noted that potential issues involving the Strait of Hormuz and the Bosphorus could necessitate different routes, such as those passing through Iran, Turkmenistan, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. He added that any path that grants access to India would be considered.
