RTI data shows railway land encroachment spans size of 42 Narendra Modi Stadiums
An RTI filing by India Today has revealed that more than 1,068 hectares of land owned by the railways is currently encroached upon. This area is roughly the same size as 42 Narendra Modi Stadiums in Ahmedabad. As the largest cricket stadium in the world by capacity, the Narendra Modi Stadium covers 25.5 hectares. The total encroached railway property is also equivalent to 1,496 football fields of FIFA standard size.
