Rome talks address Israeli military pullout from Lebanon
Lebanon and Israel have restarted a two-day negotiation session at the American embassy in Rome, centering on the removal of Israeli forces from southern Lebanon as part of a US-mediated arrangement. Israel currently holds a "buffer zone" spanning about 10 kilometers near the border, arguing that it serves as a shield for northern towns against Hezbollah strikes. Meanwhile, Hezbollah continues to oppose the deal and refuses to comply with demands to lay down its arms.
