Retail inflation in half of India's states exceeds RBI's 4% goal
Government figures reveal that retail inflation in 50% of India's states and Union Territories surpassed the Reserve Bank of India's 4% threshold during June. Telangana saw the steepest rise at 6.36%, while Andhra Pradesh and Puducherry followed with 5.39% each. Other major states that reported inflation levels higher than the RBI's target were Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka, Jharkhand, and Gujarat.
