Researchers find 31 new deep-sea species near Brazil
A team of researchers identified 31 marine species that were previously undocumented while exploring the deep waters off the Brazilian coast. Among the discoveries were a transparent glass squid, a gossamer worm, various comb jellies, siphonophores, and a number of unique fish. The expedition targeted the ocean's midwater layer, which sits at a depth of approximately 600 to 3,300 feet (180 to 1,000 metres) beneath the surface.
