Research suggests learning languages helps delay brain ageing

A new study indicates that picking up a second language might delay the ageing process of the brain by as much as 13 years. Findings shared at the Federation of European Neuroscience Societies meeting revealed that bilingual individuals possessed brains that looked roughly six years younger. Meanwhile, those fluent in three languages showed a seven-year advantage, and people who spoke four languages had brains that appeared to be 13 years younger.
