Report: Xbox could shift to digital-only games, phasing out physical discs
According to a report by The Verge, Microsoft might be preparing to end the manufacturing of physical game discs for Xbox. This follows Sony's recent announcement that PlayStation will discontinue physical media for games starting in January 2028. Even so, Xbox is not expected to abandon physical media entirely, as the company is reportedly developing a 'Disc2Digital' tool that would allow users to redeem a digital version of a game they own on disc.
