Report: Pakistan's attempt to challenge Indus Waters Treaty leads to extra costs

According to an ET report, Pakistan's decision to seek arbitration after India suspended the Indus Waters Treaty has resulted in an unexpected financial burden. Pakistan is currently covering the arbitration expenses for both countries. So far, Islamabad has paid ₹5.7 crore to continue the process, and these costs are projected to increase. India moved to put the treaty in abeyance following the terror attack in Pahalgam, a decision that has effectively left Pakistan responsible for the full cost of the arbitration proceedings.
