Report: Meta's AI detection tool struggles to spot its own cropped images
A Reuters analysis found that Meta's new AI image detection tool, launched alongside Muse Image this week, could not recognize its own AI-created content once the images were cropped. After testing 40 images, the study showed the tool missed 55% of AI-generated pictures that had been trimmed to half or one-third of their initial size. However, the system successfully identified every full-sized AI image it was tested against.
