According to a report by The Times, FIFA President Gianni Infantino stood to receive a salary and bonuses totaling $30 million (approximately ₹286 crore) had his strategy to sell minority shares in a new $20 billion subsidiary tasked with managing the World Cup gone through. The plan was eventually scrapped after facing significant opposition from key football associations and his own advisors, such as FIFA COO Kevin Lamour.
