Report: China now home to 6 of the 10 best AI models
According to a Wion report based on independent leaderboards, Chinese companies have created six of the ten leading AI models globally, including DeepSeek. For a short time in mid-July, Chinese firms even occupied every position in the top five. Tech giants like Alibaba, ByteDance, Tencent, Baidu, Moonshot, and Zhipu are now competing with American firms by offering high-quality AI models for reasoning, coding, and multimodal tasks at much cheaper prices.
